Catalan University Libraries Erasmus Staff Week

October 7-11, 2024, Barcelona. The 2024 Catalan University Libraries Erasmus Staff Week is a 5-days of lectures and discussions to collaborate and exchange experiences in the field of open science and the role of university libraries.

Three of the largest university libraries of the Consortium of University Services of Catalonia (CSUC), the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), organize a 5-days of lectures and discussions from October 7-11, 2024, in Barcelona to talk about:

  • open science infrastructures
  • teaching support
  • research support
  • open education and citizen science

The first Catalan University Libraries Erasmus Staff Week is open to all staff members of partner universities who work in the Library Services and want to address the following questions:

  • What are the challenges facing libraries in supporting teaching and research?
  • What new tools are available?
  • What improvements can be implemented?

The event accepts up to 20 participants. The registration fee is 150 € per person and includes mid-morning snacks, lunches each day, and interesting visits to get to know some of the most popular places and attractions in Barcelona. 

The language of the Staff Training Week is English, so fluency in English (speaking, listening, reading, writing) is required.

Participants are responsible for arranging and covering accommodation and travel expenses. We encourage participants to seek the Erasmus+ Mobility grant from their home institution.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out our online pre-registration form with a summary of your work tasks and what kind of best practice example you intend to present related to the themes of the Erasmus week. 

PRE-REGISTER CLOSED!

The pre-registration is open until May 24,  2024. Confirmation of selected and non-selected participants will be sent by June 7, 2024. Do not make travel arrangements before your participation is confirmed.

Please note that successfully submitting the pre-registration form does not guarantee acceptance to the event. Also please be aware that this International Mobility Staff Week may be canceled due to lack of participants or sanitary reasons.

Tuesday 8, 2024 - Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC)

  • 09:30 - 11:00 Research support services at UPC libraries
  • 11:00 - 11:30 Breakfast break
  • 11:30 - 12:30 Library's Research Café. User training. Cultural programming in collaboration with UPCArts.
  • 12:30 - 13:30 Visit to UPC spaces
  • 13:30 - 14:30 Lunch
  • 14:30 - 15:30 Participant presentations
  • 16:00 - 17:00 Social activity 

Wednesday 9, 2024 - Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF)

Hotel Accomodation

We strongly advise all participants to reserve their hotel accommodation as soon as possible. For their price and quality, we recommend accommodations in University residences in Barcelona or some hotels and aparthotels:
