I want to join UNIFICAT!

As an IDP

If you want to connect your institution to UNIFICAT to make it easier for your users to have fast and secure access to a wide variety of cloud services, the first step is to include an identity provider (IdP).

This provider must pass all quality checks, verifying compliance with technical requirements and the federation trust model, as well as that the institution accepting the terms and conditions of the federation.

Here are the steps for your institution to use UNIFICAT:

  1. The university expresses to CSUC its interest in connecting to UNIFICAT.
  2. CSUC informs the institution of the necessary requirements (in Spanish).
  3. The university meets the requirements.
  4. The university indicates to CSUC its IdP metadata URL.
  5. The university IdP connects to the identity federation validation environment.
    a) The UNIFICAT managers check whether IdP metadata meet all the features listed on the model trust.
    b) The university will hold access tests to a certain set of service providers.
  6. Once the IdP is verified on its validation environment, the process to sign Terms and Conditions begins.
  7. Once the Terms and Conditions document is validated and signed, the identity provider will be active on the UNIFICAT production environment.

As an SP

If you want to connect a service to UNIFICAT to make it easier for your users and those of other institutions (IdPs) to access it fast and securely, here are the steps to follow:

  4. The institution indicates to CSUC the URL with the metadata of the SP.
  5. The SP connects to the identity federation service validation environment. UNIFICAT administrators will check that the SP metadata meets all the aspects indicated in the federation trust model.
  6. Once the service provider is verified on its validation environment, the process to sign Terms and Conditions begins.
  7. Once the Terms and Conditions document is validated and signed, the identity provider will be active on the UNIFICAT production environment.
